The general rule when wearing a three button suit is that you fasten the top two buttons and leave the lowest one undone. Aside from being purely a matter of style, this also makes the suit a bit more comfortable, particularly when you’re sitting down. The three button suit is a classic look that entrust a more formal look upon the wearer usually the case wherever buttons are concerned. The more buttons - the more formal the garment, but we recommend stopping at three…

From far away, you can’t even see them.
But come just a little closer, and you’ll see the tiny checks, prints and patterned designs on men’s dress shirts. They are called micro patterns, micro prints, or micro checks. Because of their subtle appearance, they welcome being worn with other checks, prints and patterns in what might feel like daring combinations of ties and suits.
These micro patterns create the illusion of a solid, and can be seen as a wonderful canvas, where you can pair them with other patterns. The only rule is to not put a micro-print tie against a micro-print shirt - the predominant color of the shirt should be the accent color in the tie.
A nice example of a micro pattern is the Glenrothes Pink fabric available at www.mysizeshirt.com.
These cuff links (no we don’t sell cuff links at www.mysizeshirt.com, yet…) would be a great way for men to “wear their hearts on their sleeves” for Valentine’s Day. French cuff shirts - allow men to keep their wardrobe classy, and fun at the same time!
Dry-cleaning vs. Laundering your dress shirts
Dry cleaning is over-rated (and more expensive than laundering) for maintaining your dress shirts. It will over time, deteriorate the fabric. Dry cleaning should be done with fabrics other than cotton - like wool of polyester. If it’s crispness you’re looking for, just add light starch when you do get your shirts laundered, and buy a steamer to “quick press” your shirts as needed.

The allure of “Relaxed Fit” shirts
Many shirt manufacturers give men the impression that they are buying “custom” shirts by adding words like: relaxed, athletic and slim. Here is a breakdown on what these terms really mean.
- Relaxed = the chest and hips of the shirt are larger than the normal over-sized cuts.
- Athletic = a 15% taper from the chest to the hips. This is design is intended for the classic V-shaped male physique. It still does not account for the various sizes in neck and waist ratios.
- Slim = Shirt is cut with 20% less material in the chest and hips. Most shirts cut like this don’t have any tapering, and the buttons at the top of the shirt will pull the fabric apart causing gaps.
Stop buying dress shirts like this. http://www.mysizeshirt.com will soon allow men of all shapes and sizes (Not just “Big and Tall”) to own dress shirts that fit properly.
